Important

The MobiFlight setting Automatically perform Retrigger Action with Run Mode should be disabled when using this profile. Failure to do so causes unwanted commands when the profile is Run.

Pilot Notes

Aircraft Manual

The aircraft manual from Working Title is recommended. The aircraft, FMS, and Autopilot differ significantly from other jets.

NAV SOURCE

NAV Source is either FMS 1/2 or VOR (or ILS) 1/2. The selection is made with the NAV↕ button.

Push-and-hold LNAV on your hardware autopilot to push the CJ4's NAV↕ button and change the source.

LNAV will only engage when FMS 1/2 is the source. VOR LOC / APP will only engage when VOR (or ILS) 1/2 is the source. This implementation mirrors the real aircraft.

MINS

The CJ4 cockpit has some functions buried within the PFD/MFD screens, which are not fully accessible to hardware. One of these is MINS.

Set MINS by pushing REFS on the aircraft, and navigating to BARO or RA. The hardware knob can then be used to set the desired figure.

Flight Director

There is only one Flight Director on the CJ4. FD2 switch and LED are available for reassignment.

EFIS MAP Controls

The aircraft has one button to change map format: FRMT. Both the EFIS MAP Mode - and + are linked to this button.

C/O Button

There is no variable which can tell us whether the aircraft is in IAS or MACH mode, therefore the display will always show IAS. The button can still be pushed, however.

COURSE 2

Set by pushing the course knob. The display dims. Push the knob again to return to COURSE 1.

TOGA

Push-and-hold N1 THR to engage TOGA. This should be done before every takeoff to prime the Flight Director for departure.

HDG SYNC

Push the Heading Knob to sync the FD heading to your current heading.

VERT SPEED

Display is intentionally blank when V/S is not engaged.
